Understanding The Word

Acts 8:26-40 tells the story of the Apostle Philip, who was led by the Lord's Angel to meet with a eunuch from Ethiopia. The eunuch was reading the Bible book of Isaiah without understanding its meaning. Philip explained the scripture to him, and the eunuch was baptized.

The Importance of Revelation

Many people read the Word of God like the Ethiopian eunuch, without understanding its meaning. Revelation is needed to unlock the power of the Word of God over your life. It is effective and powerful.

How to Read the Word of God with Understanding

1. Slowly: Do not rush as you're reading the Word of God. Allow yourself time to process the words.

2. Alternatively: Focus on the inner meaning of the Word. Look beyond the surface level.

3. Repeatedly: Read again and again until you understand the Word of God. Meditation is key.

The Importance of Meditation

Meditation is crucial for spiritual growth. When you meditate on the Word, you allow the Holy Spirit to reveal its meaning to you. Don't read the Word just to finish it; read it to understand and apply it to your life.

Personal Application

When you read the Word of God, insert your name, situation, or family into the scripture. This will help you understand the personal message God has for you. Remember, God grows a minister, not a ministry.

Declaration

"I declare that I will understand the Word of God and apply it to my life. I will read the Word slowly, alternatively, and repeatedly, and meditate on it for spiritual growth. I decree that the Holy Spirit will reveal the meaning of the Word to me, and I will walk in its power. I will insert my name, situation, or family into the scripture, and receive the personal message God has for me."

"Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for revelation and understanding of Your Word. Give me the ability to read Your Word with discernment and meditation, that I may apply its truth to my life. Help me to slow down and focus on the inner meaning of the Word, that I may receive the personal message You have for me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may be empowered to live out the Word of God in my daily life, in Jesus name amen."
